The school was inspected by Ofsted in the first week of December 2018. In the report you will see that the inspectors identified that pupils were happy at the school and that they felt that their lives had improved because of the good care and support they receive from staff.  It is also pleasing to see that the inspectors appreciated and understood how well the school helps to boost pupils’ self-esteem and confidence and that they made good progress both academically and socially, meaning that staff have a good understanding of the pupils’ needs.

Since the last inspection 3 years ago and up until September 2018, the school had undergone a huge transition in terms of the Senior Management Team and the Governors, which had an impact on leadership and management in some areas.  Therefore, although all other areas are judged as ‘Good’, the leadership and management falling into “requires improvement” means that this is the overall judgement.

I want to assure you that the Governors and Senior Management Team have worked quickly together to draw up a plan that will clearly and effectively address the issues raised in the report. In the meantime, the many positive aspects of pupils’ lives identified in the report will continue unaffected.

Mrs Sue Deane

Chair of Governors
