Teacher of History and RE – West Sussex

Farney Close is a mixed independent residential school for children aged 11-18 who are experiencing Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. The school also supports pupils who experience Asperger or Tourette’s Syndrome, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia or Moderate Speech and Language Difficulties. The school is an established and very successful school, and was judged “Outstanding” by Ofsted in the last educational inspection.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to coordinate our History and RE Department. The successful applicant will need to be qualified to teach both Key Stages 3&4. The school follows the National Curriculum, offering a variety of qualifications from GCSE to Entry Level Pathways, and therefore applicants will need to flexible in their approach to ensure that they meet the individual needs of the students.

Having prior experience of working with SEMH pupils is advantageous.

The school is dedicated to offering a comprehensive induction program and continued professional development for staff.

This would be for a permanent position from 1st September 2018, we are looking for someone who is happy to become an integral and positive member of the school.
We have a highly skilled specialist team in place to support teachers in providing a multidisciplinary approach to education. The staff group is motivated and dedicated to support the students and one another. Our facilities are excellent and classes are a maximum of 8.

Teaching/Classroom Assistant (with Work Experience & Careers Co-ordination responsibility)
The salary is banded between £15,941.38 and £16,172.28 depending on qualifications and experience.

We are seeking to employ a TA with responsibility for Work Experience and Careers Co-ordination. The role is a full time position and is split; 28.5 hours a week as a Teaching Assistant, and 4 hours a week co-ordinating work experience and careers related administration.

This role requires you to support the specialist teaching team, and be working closely with the students in the classroom. The careers and work experience duties, require you to be able to work independently and manage the responsibilities autonomously. It is essential that you are a self-motivated and energetic.

Food Technology Co-ordinator/Teacher
Salary mainstream, plus special needs allowance

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to coordinate our Food Technology Department. The successful applicant will need to be qualified to teach both Key Stages 3 Food technology, and Level 1 Hospitality and Catering. The school follows the National Curriculum, offering a variety of qualifications from GCSE, Entry Level Pathways and Laser learning Skills, and therefore applicants will need to flexible in their approach to ensure that they meet the individual needs of the students.

Closing date for applications is 23rd April 2018.
Shortlisted applicants will be given the opportunity to visit informally before interview. Formal Interviews to be held at a mutually convenient time with a view to the successful candidate starting work on 5th September 2018.
