Teacher of History and RE 

Salary Mainstream + 2 Special Needs
Full Time - Permanent

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to coordinate our History and RE Department. The successful applicant will need to be qualified to teach both Key Stages 3&4. The school follows the National Curriculum, offering a variety of qualifications from GCSE to Entry Level Pathways, and therefore applicants will need to flexible in their approach to ensure that they meet the individual needs of the students.

Having prior experience of working with SEMH pupils is advantageous.
The school is dedicated to offering a comprehensive induction program and continued professional development for staff.

This would be for a permanent position from 7th January 2019, we are looking for someone who is happy to become an integral and positive member of the school.

We have a highly skilled specialist team in place to support teachers in providing a multidisciplinary approach to education. The staff group is motivated and dedicated to support the students and one another. Our facilities are excellent and classes are a maximum of 8.

 Kitchen Porter - Full Time, Term only 

Farney Close School is an independent weekly boarding special school with charitable status for boys and girls aged 11 to 19 years, who are experiencing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. The school is set in a rural environment, so transport is essential.

10.30 to 6.30pm Monday to Thursday
08.00 to 2.30pm Friday

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking person to join our friendly catering team to start on 7th January 2020. Must be willing to do all duties in the kitchen. Full training given.

Speech and Language Therapist – 22.5 hours per week, term time only

Farney Close is a mixed independent residential special school for children aged 9 -18 who are in receipt of an ECHP because they experience a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. However, the school also supports pupils who experience Asperger or Tourette’s Syndrome, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia, Moderate Speech and Language Difficulties, Communication and Language Difficulties, or difficulties with Sensory Regulation. Situated on the A272 and the A23 intersection at Bolney, West Sussex, the school has an established and very successful reputation, achieving numerous outstanding and good Ofsted inspection judgements for educational and care provisions over the last decade.

The school are looking to recruit a permanent Speech and Language Therapist at band 6-7, pro-rata to support the assessment of our young people and assist with the provision of Speech and Language Therapy. The successful candidate will work as part of the friendly Education team, planning and implementing therapeutic strategies to support a wide range of speech, language and communication needs. This will be either on a one to one or small group basis. The Therapist will need to be flexible in their approach to ensure that they meet the individual needs of the students and have prior experience of working with SEMH pupils.

Occupational Therapist – two days a week, term time only
