Farney Close will be closed to staff and pupils on Monday 19th September to allow all parties to watch the funeral away from school and mourn the loss of Queen Elizabeth II. This is in line with the DFE expectation for all schools to close for this one day, since this has been declared as a Bank Holiday by King Charles III.
Over the coming week we will be holding assemblies and undertaking learning and discussion in class, in recognition of this historical occurrence. Pupils are to return to school on Tuesday 20th September, by their usual means of transport, ready for the school day. We will inform taxis and transport arrangers but if a taxi does turn by to collect your child on Monday 19th please do not send them into school.
On Wednesday 21st September our weekly cultural capital focus will be Great Britain and the royal family, with a lunch where the Queens favourite food will be served.
I apologise for any inconvenience that this causes.
Sara Hack, Principal.
