Our Ankoma Visitors, May 2023

By June 26, 2023No Comments

We have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming 4 young people from a village called Ankoma to visit us at Farney Close School. The village of Ankoma is situated in Ghana, West Africa.

Ankoma Outreach is a charity that we have supported for many years that aims to ensure every child has the opportunity of education, every individual has access to healthcare and good sanitation levels are maintained. The charity has provided these four young people with the experience of a lifetime, to leave their district, country and continent for the first time on an adventure to the UK.

Here are our visitors teaching our children and staff how to say hello in their language. Twi is a dialect of the Akan language spoken in southern and central Ghana by several million people.

They also sang and played drums for us, as they would if they were at home. And taught our staff and children to dance.
