Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Monday to Friday – Term time only.

Full time contract – 39 Hours per week

Hours – 8.15am-4.45pm Mon-Thur, 8.15am-3.45pm Fri.

Salary Range, dependent on experience between £27,111.32 p.a. and £28,121.11 p.a.

Farney Close School is expanding its number of Teaching Assistants and as a result needs A HLTA / Head TA for a section of our school.

Farney Close is a mixed independent residential special school for children aged 9 -18 who are in receipt of an (EHCP) because they experience a range of special needs including social, emotional and mental health needs. Specific Learning Difficulties such as Autistic Spectrum Conditions, ADHD, Dyslexia or a range of cognitive and processing needs

Situated on the A272 and the A23 intersection at Bolney, West Sussex, the school has an established and very successful reputation, achieving numerous outstanding and good Ofsted inspection judgements for educational and care provisions over the last decade.

The successful candidate will be either be a qualified HLTA or person with experience of being a Teaching Assistant (TA) who will undertake the award. They will also hold responsibility for line managing Teaching Assistants in our secondary provision.

They will be responsible to the Head of Education, will cover for absent TAs in some classes but ultimately ensure that the quality of support provided by secondary provision TAs is as required for working within a school such as ours.

Knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEMH, ASC, SpLD, MLD and Trauma and Attachment would be an advantage but not essential.

The role will also encompass maintaining high standards in Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Risk Assessments and Behaviour Support Plans.
